Andrzej Arendarski, President of the Polish Chamber of Commerce. Ph.D. (humanities), co-founder and president of the Polish Chamber of Commerce since its creation. Expert and activist in economic affairs. Under his guidance the Chamber has gained universal authority and become an authentic representative of the economic milieu associating 130 organizations and, through these, several hundred thousand companies.
Andrzej Arendarski is also a chairman of council of the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and a chairman of Polish-American counseling foundation for small enterprises. Moreover, he is in the chair of the Polish Quality Awards committee and Mister and Junior of Export jury. On the 1st January 2008 he took on the post of Eurochambres’ vice President, which is an association of European Chambers of Commerce located in Brussels, strengthening polish entrepreneurs’ position in the international arena.
In 2002 – 2003 as the president of Tel-Energo S.A. and NOM Sp. z o.o. he worked on liberalization of polish telecommunication market. In 1992 was nominated to the post of Minister for Foreign Economic Cooperation in the government headed by Hanna Suchocka. Member of the Polish Parliament between 1989 and 1993. Actively committed to the creation of conditions for the existence of a civic society and systemic changes.
During the 80’s he was participating in the structures of democratic opposition (he worked in the independent educational and editorial structures, he was also a co-founder of Economic Association in Warsaw).
He is an economic expert and the economy activist. Member of many Polish and foreign organizations and associations to support economic growth. University lecturer and author of numerous publications within many opinion-forming titles. Skilled in linking theory with practice. Enjoys the respect of many leading personalities in politics and the economy in Poland and abroad. Awarded many high-ranking Polish and foreign orders including the Officer’s and Commander’s Crosses of the Order of Reborn Poland and also the Order of the Smile.


Ellis Baker is a partner and Head of the Construction and Engineering Practice in the London office of White & Case. Ellis Baker has substantial experience of international construction and engineering work across a wide range of clients and jurisdictions. In dispute resolution, Ellis has significant experience in the resolution of large complex matters by negotiation, litigation and arbitration, including appearing as lead advocate in international arbitration proceedings.


Zbigniew J. Boczek – Vice-President and Independent Expert, Consulting Engineer of the Association of Consulting Engineers and Experts – the Polish Member Organisation of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC). Editor-in-Chief of “SIDiR Consultant” bulletin. Lecturer at post-graduate study courses run at the Technological University of Wrocław, Technological University of Poznań and Technological University of Gdańsk.


Paul Buckingham. After spending eight years with BP as a chemical engineer working on the design, construction and commissioning of oil and gas projects, Paul Buckingham qualified as a Barrister and has since specialised in major construction, engineering and energy disputes. He currently practices at Keating Chambers in London, England, and his particular area of interest and expertise lies in international arbitration work.
He has extensive experience of numerous arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and ad hoc rules. He has also acted on disputes involving most standard form contracts and their derivatives, including the JCT, ICE, IChemE and FIDIC forms.
He regularly acts for clients in court, domestic and international arbitration, adjudication and expert determination hearings. He also has experience at all levels of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, dispute review boards, project appeal panels, and direct settlement negotiations.
Paul Buckingham is a member of the IChemE’s Contract Committee, responsible for drafting and amending its standard forms of contract, and is Chairman of the IChemE’s Dispute Resolution Committee, responsible for drafting and amending its dispute rules.


Agnieszka Chylińska is an attorney at law at Wierzbowski Eversheds. She participates in complex infrastructure projects, particularly in the public sector. She specializes in contracts based on FIDIC standards for implementation of road projects in which the Employer is a state entity. She advises at all stages of acquisition and development of real estate. She also took part in the project for implementation and operation of Poland’s National Electronic Toll Collection System. She participates in conferences involving FIDIC contracts. In February 2011, she represented Wierzbowski Eversheds as a speaker at a conference entitled “A Polish and international legal perspective on 20 important contractual/legal issues that arise on real estate and construction projects (based on FIDIC and other contracts),” addressing key issues that arise during implementation of construction projects.


Michał Drozdowicz is an attorney at law in the Public Procurement team at Wierzbowski Eversheds. He specializes in public procurement law. His track record includes advising on preparation and implementation of infrastructure projects, particularly road and rail. Michał has advised clients in a number of large public procurement projects, including those related to construction works. He also represents clients in disputes, including cases related to liability for breach of public finance regulations in the context of awarding and performance of public contracts.


Marcin Dziurda, Doctor of Laws, legal adviser. He is an author of numerous publications in legal journals and a monograph “Reprezentacja Skarbu Państwa w procesie cywilnym” [“Representation of the State Treasury in the Civil Proceedings”], and editor of “Komentarz do ustawy o Prokuratorii Generalnej Skarbu Państwa” [“A Commentary on the Act on the State Treasury Solicitor’s Office”]. Since 2006 he has been the President of the State Treasury Solicitor’s Office.


Lidia Dziurzyńska-Leipert is a Legal Advisor and Partner in the Real Estate and Construction Department of the Warsaw Office of CMS Cameron McKenna. She also heads the German desk. She specializes in providing on-going services to clients implementing investment projects and infrastructure ventures that are carried out on the basis of, among others, FIDIC contracts, developer projects and construction disputes. She possesses wide experience in the field of general contractor agreements, investment substitution, consortium agreements or agreements with architects.


Siobhan Fahey is a Chartered Civil Engineer who specialises in construction law and resolution of construction disputes.
An independent consultant since 2004, Siobhan spends much of her working life as a conciliator and arbitrator of Irish construction disputes, but also provides advice on construction contracts, dispute avoidance and dispute resolution.
Siobhan became a Chartered Engineer in 1996, completed a law degree in 1997, obtained a postgraduate diploma in Arbitration in 2000, became a Chartered Arbitrator in 2009, and qualified as an Accredited Mediator with CIArb in 2011.
She has worked in Ireland, the United Kingdom and overseas, for consulting engineering firms, government agencies and contract consultancy firms advising contractors and developers. For five years, commencing in 1999, she was the in-house Contracts Advisor on the Dublin Light Railway (LUAS).
Siobhan is on the panels of arbitrators and conciliators held by Engineers Ireland and by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; the panel of arbitrators held by the Law Society of Ireland; and is a Professional Dispute Board Member of the Dispute Board Federation based in Geneva.
Siobhan is Chair of FIDIC’s task group for drafting Subcontracts for the Plant, Design and Build and EPC/Turnkey Projects forms of contract, was a member of FIDIC’s task group for updating the Subcontract for Construction, and regularly speaks at international FIDIC and FIDIC/ICC conferences. She is a committee member of the Dispute Resolution Board of Engineers Ireland. She is also on the editorial panel for the Management, Procurement and Law Journal published by the Institute of Civil Engineers UK.


Marek Furtek – attorney-at-law (radca prawny) and partner in the firm, head of its litigation and arbitration practice. President of the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw. An arbitrator or attorney in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings before permanent courts (incl. SAKIG, VIAC, ICC, ZBP) and ad hoc courts. Joint author of the first Polish Code of Best Practice for Listed Companies. He has been a member of the supervisory boards of numerous listed companies, including banks, and has chaired general meetings of shareholders of many listed companies. He has represented, among others, BRE Bank S.A. in a dispute concerning the Act on Trading in Financial Instruments, and ING Bank Śląski S.A. in five cases before the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce and common law courts. He has also represented Bank Handlowy w Warszawie S.A. in proceedings before an arbitration court, and an auditor belonging to the ‘big four’ (before common law courts and the Supreme Court) as the defendant in proceedings initiated by a client, which ended with the dismissal of the claim (setting a precedent for interpreting the regulations on auditors’ liability). As a litigation and arbitration lawyer, he is recommended every year by the daily newspaper Rzeczpospolita, the business magazine Forbes, and in the prestigious Legal 500, EMEA Chambers Europe and European Legal Experts international rankings of law firms. He speaks French and English.


Axel V. Jaeger, Member of VBI (VUBIC), Fellow of FIDIC, DBF Germany. Mr. Jaeger, born in 1943, has university degrees in mechanical and also industrial engineering, started his professional career in the construction industry, major turn-key projects.
Since 1971 he worked with the consulting industry and was managing director and partner of one of the leading German consulting firm SCHMIDT REUTER PARTNER and was Chairman of the Board of NEK Energy Consult AG, Berlin and has his own engineering practice Consulting Services in Cologne, specialised in Contract Management and Training.
Mr. Jaeger has undertaken projects around the world in West Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle and Far East, Africa and Asia.
He has been involved with FIDIC since 1983, especially in the FIDIC Contracts Committee / Task Groups for standard contract works, the General Conditions and became appointed as fellow of Consulting Engineers of FIDIC.
He served as a member of the Electrical and Mechanical Contracts Committee for the Yellow Book (1983 – 1987), was the Chairman of the Task Force for Design Build Contract for the Orange Book, (1990 – 1994) and since 1993 Member of FIDIC Contracts Committee.
In 1999 the New Red, Yellow, Silver and Green Books, known as the rainbow, were published under his significant contribution.
He has been accredited to lecture FIDIC launch seminars as facilitator and is a certified FIDIC trainer of FIDIC and VBI and a regular speaker on FIDIC Users’ Conferences.
In the year 2001 he was elected by the international member associations as a member of FIDIC’s Executive Committee, EC, with the prime responsibility of the Contracts Committee, CC and the Assessment Panel for Adjudicators, APA.
After his term of four years as a Member of EC, in accordance with the FIDIC statute for EC-Members, he was again re-elected as Member of the Contract Committee CC in 2005, and is also working in the Task Group for the new international Design-Build-Operate, DBO Conditions of Contract and the UpDate of the White Book, 4. Edition, 2006.
Since September 2006 he has been appointed as Chairman of the Contract Committee and since September 2009 as a Special Advisor to the Contracts Committee.
On the occasion of the Annual Conference in Singapore 2007 distinction of the eighth Louis Prangey Award, named after the founding FIDIC President from 1913
Mr. Jaeger is responsible for the German FIDIC training series of VBI (Vubic) and the German Adjudicator Assessment (German Association of Consulting Engineers)
He is the co-author of the 2010 book “FIDIC – A Guide for Practitioners“


Maciej Jamka, Managing Partner of the K&L Gates Warsaw Office, practices in all areas of Polish law, with particular emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and litigation. He has represented clients in major disputes in Poland. A significant portion of Mr. Jamka’s practice relates to the acquisition of commercial centers, office buildings, undeveloped plots, and agricultural land. He has also advised clients on administrative issues related to construction projects in Poland.


Dr Witold Jurcewicz is a legal advisor (radca prawny) and a partner at White & Case. Dr Witold Jurcewicz specializes in disputes, arbitrations, commercial law and in the law on public trading in securities. He has a significant experience in sophisticated construction disputes. He has also advised public companies and investors on the public market.


Lukas Klee works as an In-house Counsel and Legal Department Manager for Metrostav a.s. one of the largest general contractors in Central Europe. For the last 8 years, he has been in touch with FIDIC contracts on a daily basis participating on large construction projects in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Lukas Klee dealt with FIDIC terms both within LL.M. studies at The Nottingham Trent University and Ph.D studies at the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law. His MBA dissertation at Sheffield Hallam University was focused on Claim Management Implementation based on FIDIC best practise.
Nowadays, he works as an external lecturer of  International Construction Law for the Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Law and FIDIC lecturer for the Judicial Academy of the Czech Republic.
In cooperation with Czech Association of Consulting Engineers, he has been preparing a lot of educational seminars on FIDIC matters.
He published about 10 articles on International Construction Law and a book called FIDIC Conditions of Contract.

Daniel Kopania is a qualified Polish legal adviser. Partner heading the Clifford Chance Warsaw Real Estate, Construction & Infrastructure Department being the biggest construction law practice in Poland. He advises owners, funders, contractors and professional consultants involved in the construction process.


Arkadiusz Korzeniewski is an Advocate and Partner in the Dispute Resolution Department at the Warsaw office of CMS Cameron McKenna. His practice includes representing clients in proceedings before Polish civil, criminal and administrative courts and domestic and international arbitration tribunals. For many years, he has advised and represented construction clients, especially in arbitration and civil disputes concerning construction contracts, including those based on FIDIC clauses.


Bartosz Krużewski is a qualified Polish advocate. Partner heading the Clifford Chance Warsaw Dispute Resolution Department. Extensive experience in construction litigation and arbitration, both domestic and international. Ranked one of the top litigators in Poland by Forbes in 2010 and 2011. Tomasz Kurek is an Advocate, Legal Advisor and Partner heading Real Estate and Construction Department in CMS Cameron McKenna’s Warsaw office. He specialises in civil law, real estate and construction law, as well as commercial and administrative law. He has authored numerous publications concerning real property law and construction investment law.


Wadim Kurpias is a Legal Advisor and a Partner in CMS Cameron McKenna’s Warsaw office. He heads the CMS Infrastructure and Project Finance practice in CEE. Wadim Kurpias advises on large construction and infrastructure investments, especially those conducted in a PPP formula. He has extensive experience in negotiating major construction contracts as well as advising on land use and permitting issues.


Dr. Rafał Morek’s practice focuses on representing clients in court disputes and extra-judicial dispute settlement specifically in relation to commercial law and company law. He has extensive experience representing clients in commercial disputes before both state courts and arbitral tribunals particularly in the fields of commercial and company law. He has wide-ranging experience in representing clients from the financial sector as well as in relation to contracts and real estate. Dr. Morek is an assistant professor at the Faculty of Law, University of Warsaw. Stephan Kyutchukov is a member of the Bulgarian Bar, a partner with the Bulgarian law firm of Djingov, Gouginski, Kyutchukov & Velichkov, and the head of the real estate and construction practice of the firm. Stephan is mostly a transaction lawyer and his construction-related experience is in infrastructure projects and in commercial, residential and industrial real estate development. Hilary McDowell is a Partner, Head of the CEE Real Estate practice group and Head of the CMS Real Estate and Construction sector group in CMS Cameron McKenna. She specialises in property acquisition, financing, development, structuring and letting, including hotels, retail developments with leisure elements, warehousing, supermarkets, hypermarkets and office developments.


Aisha Nadar, BSEE, MBA, LL.M. For over 25 years, Aisha has been involved in the implementation of large-scale cross-border infrastructure programs, primarily in the defense arena. Her procurement and international contract management experience includes holding senior level positions in the US and the Middle East. Aisha is retained regularly by parties, party counsel and arbitral tribunals in matters involving international arbitration and dispute boards. She also advises parties on non-contentious procurement matters (contracts, procurement strategy, program management and dispute prevention). She combines her consulting practice in procurement and dispute resolution with continued academic training and teaching. Aisha is a Visiting Research Fellow in Construction Contracts and Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary, University of London and currently serves as a member of FIDIC’s Update Task Group, of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Committee on Procedures and Services Under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, and of The Standing Committee Of the ICC International Centre for Expertise.


Ilia Nikiforow, specialization: Transnational business transactions and dispute resolution (construction law, intellectual property law, international arbitration and litigation)
Ilya Nikiforov is a founding member of the firm. He has invaluable experience in international arbitration and litigation, construction, intellectual property law and development projects. A visible figure in the Russian arbitration world, Nikiforov is considered a first tier dispute resolution specialist. The Arbitration team of the firm is consistently regarded as the top dispute resolution crew in Russia.

Anna Ochocka is an attorney at law at Wierzbowski Eversheds. In her practice, she specialises in infrastructure projects, including those carried out as public-private partnerships. She also has extensive experience advising on real estate transactions, construction and commercialization. In the past few years she has focused on projects related to construction and operation of motorways, advising the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways. She has also taken part in the project for implementation and operation of Poland’s National Electronic Toll Collection System.

Łukasz Rozdeiczer is an attorney of the State of New York, a solicitor of England and Wales, and is entered on the list of foreign attorneys maintained by the Warsaw Bar Association. Mr Rozdeiczer is an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University in Washington, and a lecturer at the School of International Arbitration, the University of London. He lectures in dispute resolution, mediation and negotiation.
Mr Rozdeiczer completed legal studies at Warsaw University and Harvard University, and is also a graduate of studies at Cambridge University in co-operation with Warsaw University, and of specialised studies in International Commercial Arbitration at the School of International Arbitration, the University of London and at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Mr Rozdeiczer specialises in arbitration and mediation proceedings, in particular concerning commercial and investment disputes, disputes in the construction, infrastructure and power industries, and disputes between partners. He also advises on complex negotiations of transactions and disputes. He has practised in the USA, England and Poland, advising clients on disputes held before common courts and arbitration panels such as: KIG, LCIA, UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID, SCC, VIAC and FOSFA.
He has been active as a mediator for ten years, appearing on the list of mediators maintained by the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, and on those of many state courts. Dr. Wojciech Sadowski, advocate, is a practitioner in the fields of litigation and dispute resolution. He has handled complex commercial cases before the Polish courts as well as domestic and international arbitral tribunals. Along with his practice of counsel, Dr. Sadowski has also made himself known as an academic focused mainly on international dispute settlement. He is an assistant professor at the Department of International Law at the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Science.


Paweł Samborski is an advocate and a partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice in the Warsaw office of White & Case. Paweł Samborski specializes in dispute resolutions before arbitration and state courts, particularly in relation to construction disputes. Matthew Smith, Partner of the K&L Gates London Office, focuses on advising on UK and international transport, energy and infrastructure projects and disputes. He has acted for owners, contractors and consultants in many different disputes utilising various forms of dispute resolution including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation. Michał Subocz is a legal advisor (radca prawny) and a partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice in the Warsaw office of White & Case. Graduate of the Faculty of Economy, Radom University of Technology, major – finances; President of Foundation „Cooperation Fund” in charge of foreign funds handling, 2007-2008; worked in Supreme Chamber of Control (NIK), 1998-2007, last time as economic advisor responsible for supervision and coordination of control over implementation, management and absorption of EU funds by Poland; At the same time, academic lecturer on acquisition, absorption and control of Structural Funds, and economy and finances at various faculties and levels, e.g. Warsaw School of Economics.

Zbyszko Wizner is Attorney-at-Law and tax advisor. He became a partner at SK&S in 2000. He has advised a number of important foreign investors. Apart from his general law practice, he specializes in advising on construction and infrastructural processes and construction works contracts (FIDIC and non-FIDIC), including procedures of procurement of various administrative permits for complex infrastructure projects.


Volodymyr Yaremko, attorney-at-law, specializes in the settlement of disputes in the national courts, as well as under the procedures of international commercial and investment arbitration. Experience in disputes associated with foreign trade activities, real estate and construction, telecommunications and agriculture. Extensive experience in dealing with cases involving debt collection, execution of sale and delivery contracts, and construction disputes. Handled cases under the Arbitration Rules of the ICC, UNCITRAL, SCC, VIAC and ICAC at the UCCI.
Representation of the interests of a Swiss company in a dispute which arose from the more than 7 million EUR contract for works with a state authority of Ukraine, under UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, as well as the interests of one of the leading Ukrainian mobile phone operators in the dispute, which arose from an international GSM roaming agreement with a Russian mobile operator, under ICC Arbitration Rules.
Volodymyr also advises foreign corporate clients on investment in Ukraine, both in assets and shares.
Volodymyr is the Head of the Ukrainian Bar Association in Lviv region of Ukraine and the member of a number of professional organization in the field of ADR (Austrian Arbitration Association, LCIA Young International Arbitration Group, ICC Young Arbitrators Forum, ICDR Young & International, Young ICCA, to name a few).


Mr. Zoltán Záhonyi (1967) holds a degree of M.Sc. in Civil Engineering(Budapest, 1991) and a postgraduate degree in Law (Budapest, 2004). During his education years and in the very early period of his career he gained international experience in various civil engineering fields in a number of European countries (Austria, Germany, Iceland and Great Britain).
His first involvements with consulting engineering and FIDIC contracts took place in the early 1990-s. Zoltán played important role in spreading the use and practice of using FIDIC Conditions of Contracts in Hungary – among others he is the translator of FIDIC 1999 Red Book, Green Book, and also 1995 Orange Book as well as White Book into Hungarian language.
Apart from providing consultancy services for Engineers, Employers as well as Contractors for major infrastructure projects, he has been involved in a number of Task Groups and the Contracts Committee of the International FIDIC organisation since 2007 (CC member from 2009). He is an enlisted dispute adjudicator in Hungary and an accredited international FIDIC trainer. In addition to the 3-4 annual FIDIC courses in Hungary, he started to spread out his training capabilities on the international scene (Riga, Doha, Lagos, Kathmandu and Manila).
Most recently Zoltán has launched his new consulting engineers Ltd. (Z & Partners) involving 3 other, similarly experienced senior engineers to provide flexible engineering contracts advisory services, based on his and his partners wide ranging practical experience.
